Another stage victory for AMC!

Start of the season for Adria Mobil Cycling is truly fantastic and we can only hope that it will continue in this manner. Final outcome from 3-day race International Tour of North Cyprus is:
- Two stage victories, by Jon Božić and Dušan Rajović
- Jon Božič won overall standings
- Gašper Katrašnik won overall points competition
- Adria Mobil Cycling won team rankings.
Jon Božič has to be biggest here of the race, he took yellow jersey with amazing solo attack on the first day and held it all the way to the end. Gašper Katrašnik also did fantastic job, so did today’s winner Dušan Rajović. He was second yesterday, and didn’t allow any surprises today. He won after the sprint finish of a smaller group, Katrašnik and Žiga Grošelj were also in there with him.

Team was working perfectly and all riders showed how well prepared they are. Now they will travel back home and do last preparations of the classic races in Istria.

Dušan Rajović, winner of the 3rd stage: “Last stage was a criterium. This was a final day of successful winter training camp and first two days of the race and we wanted to end it with another fantastic result – and so we did. Riders were attacking right away from the start, soon a group of about ten riders was formed. Katrašnik, Grošelj and myself were also in that group. We’re on a high pace all the way to the end and sprint finish where I took a solid victory. Race was very successful and we can’t wait to show this form on the Istria classics.”

Jon Božič, race winner: “I believe we again showed that we are a team. We had everything under control and also three riders in the escape group. Guys in the back were making sure that I’m in a safe place. I’m really excited about my first victory in the elite category. The feelings I experienced while riding in yellow are overwhelming, especially since I managed to take it home. I want to experience these feelings more often. We’re on the right path and we to next races with full motivation.”

Srečko Glivar, Adria Mobil’s Sports Director: “Our team attacked with full force, we wanted to do another good training before we had back home. Weather conditions back home are not that good. Aggressive riding paid off and we got another stage victory! We’re happy with our adventure on Cyprus. Guys are in good form and we have good feelings ahead of next races in Slovenian and Croatian Istria.”
